[I’ll be blogging about my recent Hong Kong trip in the upcoming blogposts, and mainly about the food I had the opportunity of savoring there. Totally worth putting on some weight for! Hehe!]
First up is Capital Cafe:
We ordered the breakfast set (HKD$32 per set) which came with macaroni and ham, 2 eggs (fried or scrambled), toast and coffee/tea.
*You’ll be asked if you want the eggs fried (jian) or scrambled (chao). In our haste to order (since everything is done in a hurry in Hong Kong), we ordered fried eggs instead of scrambled eggs which was what I really wanted to try, and which Capital Cafe is known for. Anyway, we made up for that mistake with our order of Scrambled Eggs with Black Truffle on Toast (HKD$38), which was absolutely delicious!
Since we stayed in the Mongkok area, we didn’t travel to Wan Chai to dine at Capital Cafe’s outlet there, like a lot of other bloggers have done. With Google Maps, the outlet in Mongkok was super easy to locate. Also, in the picture above, I’ve added Kitty and a pink star to point out the Scrambled Eggs with Black Truffle on Toast that you MUST order. Can’t read Chinese characters? Just point to the board or the menu!😀
The scrambled eggs are a must try! In fact, the cafe has a slogan / motto which I spotted on their menu which, translated, means “Putting our heart into making good scrambled eggs and milk tea”. Guess this tells you what you should order when you visit Capital Cafe!😀
