When people ask me what I do to get good skin, my (short) answer is usually “SK-II”, which I like to think explains a lot. πŸ˜€ And of course it doesn’t! A fellow blogger who ‘modeled’ at an SK-II event put it even better. Her answer to my question of “How do you get such good skin?” was “Good genes”. (@_@) So here are my 5 tips for good skin:

1) Drink lots of water. Not soft drinks, not fruit juices. If you have trouble tracking how many glasses of water you drink daily (actually who does that, anyway?), here’s what I do: I have 3 water bottles at home – 1.5 litres, 1 litre, and 500 ml. I just have to fill them with water in the morning and drink them all before the end of the day and I KNOW that I have consumed at least 3 litres of water. Simple as that. Three litres is probably not even sufficient for days when I hit the gym.

2) Get your beauty sleep. Ok, I find it tough to stick to this myself, but the 10pm to 2am golden hours are REALLY GOOD for people who want to have glowing skin in the morning, on top of really good rest.

3) Don’t use face towels.Β Actually, don’t use *any* sort of towel on your face. After cleansing, dry your face with tissues instead. You don’t want any bacteria from towels to get onto your face! Also, begin your face cleansing routine with warm water to open your pores, and end your routine with cold water to close those pores (makes sense?).

4) Don’t wear makeup!Β Yup, people are often surprised that I don’t have foundation, powder, blush, etc on my face. The only makeup I do is eye makeup – just my false eyelashes, and sometimes, eyebrow pencil to fill in those brows. That is all. My skin has REALLY benefited from being taken off makeup. But of course, the makeup industry will not want you to believe me. Truth is, yes, your face will look pale and ghastly in the first few days or weeks of no-makeup, but after that, you can get great skin with the right skincare regime. [*I don’t recommend this for everyone, of course. If you need to face customers in your line of work, makeup is actually a form of respect. So don’t scare people, especially your boss!]

5) Incorporate SK-II products into your skincare regime. You don’t have to buy ALL the products in the SK-II range, ‘cos they can be pricey.   8. Drink enough water especially for those who work and sleep in air conditioned environment. Apply your skincare product before sleep. Try sleeping before 10pm or even best 9pm, ensuring adequate sleep of at least 8hours and above. Before you head out to work, prepare a few slices of lemon and drop it in your water bottle. It helps in detoxifying purposes. This works for me very well if you are compliance enough to the “sleep before 10pm” steps, you will see brighter skin, and bye-bye dark circles. ❀

  10. Drink plenty of H2O, exercise regularly, remove make up thoroughly , apply right skin care for your skin, always apply sunscreen even if u didnt go out! And finally stay happy will make u look good πŸ™‚

    • The first tips you mention drink fruits juice, it is good but one glass of fruits juice contain 5-6 fruits in it. One person will never eat more than 2 fruits in a day, so it is better to eat 1 or 2 fruits than drinking fruits juice. Fruit itself contain sugar, and you don’t want to consume too much sugar.

      Girls always worry about ζ°΄θ‚Ώ(Edema) so they will control drinking water at night but actually edema is happen on people who consume too much salt.

      And for most basic skin care I think should be try not to touch out face using hand, we never know what germ we have on hand before touching our face.

      I’m not sure I’m correct or not but just my suggestion.

    • One more use egg white as mask, it may smell bad but is really good.

      Soak it will thin cotton pad and put on your face till it dry and peel off you will find most of your dirty in pores being plucked out

  11. Daily exercise can improve your complexion as it increases blood flow, gets rid of impurities through sweat and brings more oxygen to the skin.

    My tips are:

    1: exfoliate your skin weekly with a good scrub
    2: remove your make up thoroughly
    3: hydrate your skin, internally and externally.
    If possible, try to mask every week.

    Take a 5 spoon of milk and add it pinch of salt .. slowly rub on the face and leave it for 10 min .. then wash ur face with luke warm water.. u will feel the difference in one day only bet it…

    Below are some of my skin tips:
    1) Apply sunblock and try to get away from the sun as much as possible. If you have to, spam sunblock!
    2) Eat food that allows you to glow. E.g. incorporate more fruits and vegetables in your diet. Consuming collagen also helps in the long run. Do not eat fried food if possible. Drink water instead of sugary soft drinks.
    3) Apart from trying not to apply makeup or just applying eye makeup, always remember to remove your makeup thoroughly. Make sure zero makeup before heading to bed.
    4) Try not to touch your face after you’re done with your daily face routine as you do not know what you touch after that.
    5) Nothing beats staying happy inside and it will show on the outside. Believe me, you’ll glow when your heart smiles πŸ™‚

    In addition to that, I would to include the use of sunblock with SPF of at least 15 above when we go outdoors and to make sure that the sunblock we use has a UVA and UVB protection.Always hydrate yourself to replenish the loss fluids especially when we’re doing vigorous activities.Our skin needs lots of hydration to keep it soft, smooth and moisturize. πŸ™‚

  29. I’m nearly 27 and I still look like in my early 20s. some people even think I’m even younger than that! My tips are simple:

    1. Drink enough water, especially when you wake up, before you go to bed, and after you eat. It helps you to cleanse your body. Take a bottle of water wherever you go.

    2. Masks helps you to tighten your skin, but the natural ones are even better than any factory made. My favorite mixture is olive oil (yes, just that!), and egg whites+honey

    3. Avoid fried foods and eat more vegetables. Diet is a no, eating healthy is a yes. I still eat junkfood, chips and sweets the whole time but I also eat lots of vegetables and cook most of my own food at home.

    4. Don’t use too much make up, especially for your eye area (this area normally wrinkles much faster). I only use clear lash conditioner for lashes and take normal black mascara when I go to parties.

    5. Sit, walk in a proper position and do sports regularly.

    6. Drink milk, but not too much. Women skin is designed to keep fat, that’s why it could glow more than men skin.

    7. Have some quality sleep. When I’m tired I usually take a small nap in between, even just 30 minutes. It helps me to stay fresh. What matters is quality, not quantity.

  47. Using real cucumber as a face mask is pretty effective for a hydrated glowing skin. It’s easy just have to cut the cucumber into slices and put them on the clean face. After mask, can eat them. Gu hara uses real cucumber mask almost daily for her good skin.

Well, being pretty has a lot of factor to be considered:) And no single tip is effective coz they worked with the help of other factors:)..     Sometimes, being natural is much more rewarding, especially during certain moment when ‘austerity measures’ taken place. The secret ingredients are honey and water.   56. I have a small tip to share with everyone and it works! First time in the morning, before you even eat your breakfast, drink one full glass of Lemon water. It helps to detox and freshen up your day! Most importantly, Lemon contains Vitamin C and it helps you to get radiant and glowing skin!

    I used to have dry skin until I used Neutrogena HYDROBOOST clear lotion and water gel! Their whitening cleanser, which adds as a moisturiser, is another good choice!

    I believe in using the same brand as I feel that the products complement each other and they will not cause any irritations!

    Thus, my skin is getting bouncy and of course, you must apply in the right direction! Going against the gravity, my V-shaped face is getting more obvious for the past 1 year!

    1) My job required me to wear make up as I need to meet up employees. After my work, the first time I will do is double cleanse my face. I will make sure my make up completely cleanse.
    2) I will eat more vegetables and fruits to detox toxin inside my body.
    3) I will plenty of water and make sure my body contain enough of water.
    4) Live a healthy life by prevent any smoking or drink alcohol, sleep early and do exercise more. By living a healthy life will make me feel refresh and happy. This habit is good for your skin and prevent anti aging.
    5) Before I go to sleep, I have a habit that I will massage my face. Giving massage to your face can distress and prevent some fine lines on your face. Once in a week, i will apply mask so when i wake up the next morning, my face will look more moisture.

    Thanks for sharing the good tips and your personal experience with us!

    A few good tips would be:

    1) Drink 500ml of water before breakfast, add a quarter lemon and a tea spoon of honey. Lemon is excellent source of Vitamin C and helps to clean your digestive systems. Not only that, it aids weight lost! Honey also has many health benefits too!

    2) Sleep on high thread pillow case, preferably silk thread.
    Silk is smooth and soft by nature. So minimal or no ‘markings’ will be left after a good night sleep. Some pillow case may leave ‘marks’ on the face especially is its a low thread casing and when it folds, it may increase the definition of the markings on the user’s face. 😦

    3) Use facial sponge with warm water
    Using proper and specialize facial sponge to exfoliate dead skin cells, dirt and grease after a day’s work is relaxing and refreshing! Together with the above shared tip of using warm water to open the pores to exfoliate then seal the cleansed pores.

  65. Try to sleep on ur back if u can.bcuz it best for ur skin.if u sleep on ur side it can cause premature saging n the bacteria from the pillow can transfer to ur face.It also brush ur hair away from ur face.

    I like to steam my face once a really gives me a glowing complexion afterwards.

    I try not to use facial wipes.because it can cause an imbalance of pH in ur skin

    I drink green tea every single day.This is what helps to keep my skin clear.

    I treat my skin with a mask after bath because the steam open my pores it means its a best time to apply mask and it going to absorbs better.My simple favorite mask is honey, natural yogurt & really hydrates my helps to treat my spots and exfoliates my skin.

  66. Sunscreen, sunscreen, screenscreen! Always apply sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) no matter what you’re doing or where you’re doing it. Don’t let those harmful UV A rays get deep into your skin or else say hello to premature aging and sunspots just to name a few!
