Remember how I blogged about The Dream Makers Season 2 after watching 8 episodes? Now, after 32 episodes, I’m happy to report that all’s well that ends well. There are many tear-jerking scenes towards the end too.
Huang Biren, Li Nanxing, Zoe Tay, Jeanette Aw, Rui En and Julie Tan all displayed their acting chops. There’s even a newspaper report about Julie Tan receiving online threats because of the evil screen character she played, as Dong Zihuai in the drama series. LOL.
I think the screenwriters did put in some effort to ‘rehabilitate’ the characters. Those like Zihuai and LT all got a chance to turn over a new leaf, and become likeable by the end of the show.
I especially love how, if you watch till the end, the show is dedicated to the late actor, Huang Wenyong. There are many scenes showing his earlier TV appearances, and also the recapitulation of some of the words of wisdom he’d shared before he’d passed away.
I believe The Dream Makers Season 2 will win quite a few awards. Watch out for the next Star Awards! Would be interesting if Julie Tan won the Best Supporting Actress award for her brilliantly effortless portrayal of a vindictive screen sister to Jeanette’s character. And no matter how many awards Jeanette sweeps again, no comments from me, ‘cos she’s definitely deserving. 🙂
