I popped by Marina Square during lunchtime today just so I could check out the Fairytale Garden Balloon Exhibition, and I wasn’t disappointed. I’d read that some 50 balloon artists (champions of the World Balloon Convention, winners of Taiwan International Balloon Art Championships, and other overseas record-breakers) from 9 countries came together over the past 4 days to transform the Marina Square Atrium into this fairytale garden. Over 80,000 balloons were used to create this magical wonderland!
And it was here that I realized there’s a child inside each of us. Just look at the number of hands raised here – most of them are adults who want to get a small balloon sculpture from the balloon artist performing! Apparently, you have to beat him at a game of scissors-paper-stone in order to win one. 😀
And here are some of my favorite balloon sculptures at the exhibition:
Ok this rabbit is a lil bit creepy:
This balloon exhibition will be open to the public from 18th to 20th March, 11am to 10pm. Kids (aged 3 to 12) can enjoy a balloon workshop on these days, from 230pm to 4pm and 430pm to 6pm, at just S$12 per child. Register at the Customer Service Counter. 🙂
Since it’s the school holidays, parents, do consider bringing your children to Marina Square this weekend and get some really pretty pictures taken. Do remind your kids to avoid touching the balloons though – let’s keep the balloons intact for all to enjoy. 🙂
