Many people are not doing their shopping at Orchard Road anymore, and the malls are suffering. But is it any surprise? What with e-commerce and suburban malls which are serving the heartlands really well, there’s no real need to head to town anymore. I do love dining at Waterway Point, and I’ve only just started exploring the retail shops there. And my pal Steven is right, Punggol is ulu no more. Waterway Point even has an H&M store, ok?! 😀
*I’ll be updating this post as and when I think there’s a cool store I want to recommend to the non-Punggolians. But for now… here are my picks:
This picture shows my shopping haul that lasted probably 2 hours. LOL! The top which says “Hello…” and the windbreaker-like jacket are from Esprit. I love the quality of the fabrics used, but you’ll also find me turning a bit pale when I see the pricetags. This is why I always shop when there’s a sale! 😀 Waterway Point has a Grateful Singapore Sale right now, till 26 June. Don’t miss out on the good bargains!
Actually, this store needs no introduction. You already know it’s awesome, so go. I love how the brand is passionate about sustainability issues: you can trade in your old clothes (any brand) for a 15%-off voucher! 😀 Also, kids clothing is pretty affordable; I saw so many cute items going at just S$10 each. Don’t be ripped off by blogshops! Retail stores do have good bargains too! 🙂
#3: eGG Optical Boutique
eGG has a cool range of spectacles which help block the blue rays from digital devices. And they cost around S$60+. Bring your kids here as they will enjoy playing with the capsule machine outside. Sure, each capsule contains just 2 lens cloths but kids always love fiddling with those machines. You can get those tokens for the machine when you make any purchase at eGG.
GG<5’s sale began sometime last week and I bought three items at really good discounts. I got the white skirt for just S$9.63 (the usual price is S$63.13) and the pants for S$20.33 (when the usual price is S$78.11). What a steal! The usual price for the bag is S$88.81 (but I paid just a fraction of that. Won’t state the price as it’ll be someone’s birthday gift. Haha)
The Grateful Singapore Sale at Frasers Centrepoint Malls
Possibly cooler than the Great Singapore Sale, the Grateful Singapore Sale is now on, till 26 June 2016 across 12 malls. Shoppers will be rewarded with prizes worth over S$440,000 along with fun-filled events for the entire family.
Daily Rewards: Exclusive to Frasers Rewards members, shoppers will receive $5 or $10 rebates worth over S$370,000 with every $50 or $100 spent respectively. They will also enjoy a bonus rebate when they charge their purchases to a Citi Credit Card.
Weekly Freebies: Catch The Frasers Thank You Squad roaming the malls as they dole out weekly freebies with no minimum spend required. Nostalgic ice-cream sandwiches and water shooters keep shoppers cool, while helium-filled walking pet balloons and flowery tote bags will make everyone’s day.
Year-round Prizes: 10 lucky winners will get a chance to win year-long prizes worth over $20,000 in total. Spend just $30 for a chance to win prizes such as free tickets to the movies every week, free taxi rides or a trolley full of free groceries every month.
